FT. WORTH, Texas - The San Diego State women's basketball team owned an early nine-point lead but then went without a field goal for the final 13:39 of the first half, as host TCU went up by 10 points at the break and went on to claim a 63-52 victory despite a late Aztec rally Saturday at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. SDSU dropped to 8-13 overall and 2-7 in conference play, while the Horned Frogs ended their two-game losing skid to improve to 15-8 and 7-2 in MWC action.

SDSU senior Jessika Bradley (Sacramento, Calif.) notched a career-high 17 points all in the second half, while also pulling down a team-best seven rebounds and contributing three assists. Classmate Paris Johnson (San Diego, Calif.) and sophomore Courtney Clements (Long Beach, Calif.) combined to score all of the team's 16 first-half points, ending up with 12 and 16 points, respectively. Senior Coco Davis (Sacramento, Calif.) had seven assists and six rebounds, but also had eight of the team's 23 turnovers.

The host Horned Frogs missed eight of their first nine shots from the field as the Aztecs built a 9-3 advantage. TCU cut its deficit down to four, but Clements hit her second 3-pointer of the half and Johnson added a lay-up in the paint to move it to a nine-point game.

Three consecutive SDSU turnovers led to a 6-0 Horned Frog run as the Aztec offensive went scoreless for the next 8:03. TCU doubled that 6-0 run and went ahead for the first time 17-14, before Johnson finally got the visitors back on the scoreboard with a pair of free throws.

San Diego State didn't hit a field goal for the final 13:39 of the half, committing 15 turnovers to go into the locker room down by 10 points at 26-16.

The Aztecs finally got a basket by Bradley at the 18:42 mark on a lay-up coming out of the locker room and SDSU outscored TCU 13-6 heading into the first media timeout trailing by just three points at 32-29.

The Horned Frogs then went on a 7-0 run to push the lead back into double-figures at 39-29. The home squad went up by as many as 14 points, before the Aztecs rallied to within 10, before finally falling, 63-52.

San Diego State shot 37 percent from the field, 80 percent at the line and won the rebounding battle by a small, plus-three margin. TCU, which made only 10 of its 29 shots (34.5 percent) in the first 20 minutes, committed nine fewer turnovers and turned the Aztec giveaways into 24 of its 63 total points.

The Frogs were led by Delisa Gross, who went 7-for-7 from the field for 20 points, while Briesha Wynn had 13 points off the bench.

SDSU will have its second consecutive road game next week when it takes on Utah at the Huntsman Center on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT in Salt Lake City.
