Coming off its first tournament title of the season, the San Diego State women's golf team, ranked 46th nationally by golfstat.com, stays in Southern California this week for the Bruin Wave Invitational, Feb. 28-March 2.
The 54-hole event, which is being co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine, will take place at the par-72, 6,282-yard Robinson Ranch Golf Club's Valley Course in Santa Clarita, Calif. Each of the 15 schools will have five golfers apiece with the low four scores counting per round toward the team total. Monday and Tuesday begin at 8:30 a.m. PT, while Wednesday's final 18 gets underway at 8 a.m.
SDSU's competition this week includes eight squads ranked in the top 50 according, highlighted by No. 3 UCLA, No. 7 Arizona, No. 25 Texas and No. 26 Stanford. The Aztecs will also be joined by three other Mountain West Conference foes in Brigham Young, New Mexico and UNLV.
The Aztecs placed 12th at last year's inaugural Bruin Wave Invite with a 53-over 917 and were led by Malin Enarsson's (Gothenburg, Sweden) 25th-place performance.

SDSU Line-up
The five Aztec golfers, under head coach Emilee Klein, whose scores can count toward the team total are seniors Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) and Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.), junior Malin Enarsson and sophomores Gina Clark (Murrieta, Calif.) and Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C.).
Gold Rush Wrap-Up
Two weeks ago, SDSU won the Gold Rush tournament title at the Yorba Linda Country Club by eight strokes over second place and host Long Beach State. The Aztecs finished strong, posting the best round of the entire 54-hole tournament with a 303, to come in at 54-over 918. The team had three players finish in the top eight of the 65-golfer field.
