HONOLULU - The 62nd-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team snapped a five-match losing streak on Saturday with its 5-2 victory at Hawai'i. The win propels the Aztecs to a record of 4-5.

In doubles, SDSU swept all three matches to take the early lead. Olivia Colman and Sierra Ellison were the first ones off the court with their 8-3 decision over Alyssa Nafarrete and Mari Tadaki. No. 46 Julia Wais and Alicia Aguilar later clinched the point after cruising to an 8-2 win at the top of the ladder. Then San Diego State made it 3-for-3 when Julia Trunk and Emma Cioffi grinded out a 9-7(3) performance at the middle position.

Wais gave the Aztecs a 2-0 lead with her straight-sets win (6-1, 6-2) over Magdalena Ploch at No. 3 and Sierra Ellison brought the Scarlet and Black to within one point of the team victory after she dispatched Natasha Zorec, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4.

Cioffi put an end to the suspense at No. 5 and provided the Aztecs with their fourth point as she defeated Nafarrete, 7-5, 6-2. Following a UH win at No. 6, Aguilar provided San Diego State with its fifth team point after she beat Barbara Pinterova, 0-6, 6-4, 6-3.
