ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Junior Shanae Roach and sophomore Marianne Hogan each set a school record to pace the San Diego State track and field team Friday at the 2011 Mountain West Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The Aztecs sit in fourth with 24.50 points after scoring in four events and advancing seven others to Saturday's final rounds. Brigham Young leads with 66 points, followed by New Mexico (35), Utah (27), SDSU (24.50), TCU (21), UNLV (20), Wyoming (18), Colorado State (15) and Air Force (7.50).

Roach, who on Tuesday was named the MWC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, ran 23.73 seconds to take second in the preliminary heat of the 200-meter dash. She broke former All-American Tonette Dyer's mark of 23.75, set in 2004. Roach also ran the second-fastest time in the 60 (7.43) to advance to Saturday's final.

Hogan easily set a school record in the 5,000 with a time of 17:55.31 to finish 10th of 19, despite being the only competitor from a school not at elevation. Hogan's time broke Rachel Williams' one-year old record of 18:28.29.

Freshman Allison Reaser, who yesterday won the pentathlon with a school-record 3,916 points, took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 1 ¼ inches. Reaser also qualified for Saturday's 60-meter hurdles final with the second-fastest preliminary time of 8.53.

In the pole vault, sophomore Kelsy Hintz cleared 12-10.25 to take fifth of 20 competitors. The mark improved on her No. 4 ranking in school history. Senior Katie Vo, meanwhile, vaulted 12-05.50, good enough for ninth and tied for eighth among the all-time San Diego State leaders.

The school-record holder in the weight throw, junior Whitney Ashley finished fifth in the event with a toss of 59-03.50.

Freshman Lawreta Ozoh made her collegiate debut and advanced in both the 60 and 200 meters. Her 60-meter time of 7.51 is tied for fifth all-time, while her 200 mark of 24.40 is 10th.

In the 800, Josefine Koskinen ran the third-fastest time (2:11.90) in program history and advanced to tomorrow's final, while junior Amy Brown (2:16.09) cracked the top 10 (No. 8) with an 11th-place showing.

In addition, junior Kiersten Kirkland 60-meter hurdle time of 8.72 seconds qualified her for Saturday's final.

In relay action, the team of Brown, Kirkland, freshman Niki Novak and Koskinen finished seventh in 12:21.81 (No. 3 all-time).
