TEAM NOTES
* The Aztecs tie the school record for most wins in a single season. The 2008-09 squad finished the season with a record of 26-10.

* San Diego State's 26 victories are more than any other team in the country and SDSU's 26-1 mark is the best record in the nation (one-half game ahead of Ohio State's 25-1 record).

* San Diego State continues its best start to a season with record of 26-1. Prior to this season, the Aztecs' best record after 27 games was 23-4 in 1966-67 when the Aztecs played at the Division II level.

* The Aztecs improve to 11-1 in league play, which is the best Mountain West start in school history and marks the first time in 90 years of basketball that San Diego State has won 11 of its first 12 conference games.

* San Diego State has won 35 straight games vs. unranked teams at any location.

* SDSU wins its 18th consecutive home game, which is the seventh-longest active streask in the country.

* The Aztecs have won six consecutive games, 26 of its last 27 games (26-1), 31 of its last 33 games (31-2) and 35 of its last 38 games (35-3).

* Tonight marked the ninth consecutive home sellout for San Diego State and the 11th time this season the Aztecs have played in front of a capacity crowd of 12,414 at home. This is the 11th sellout in 13 home games this season for the Aztecs. Prior to this year, SDSU had eight sellouts in the 13 previous years of the arena's existence.

* The Aztecs had two 20-point scorers for the first time since the season-opening game at Long Beach State.

SERIES NOTES
* The Aztecs swept the season series for the seventh time in the history of the series, which dates back to 1976 and has covered 69 games and for the third time in the last six seasons.

* SDSU defeated the Lobos for the third straight time, marking its first three-game winning streak vs. UNM since sweeping the series in 2007 and winning the first meeting in 2008.

* San Diego State has won 10 of the last 13 in the series and 14 of the last 22 meetings.

* The Aztecs are 21-11 vs. UNM in games played in San Diego and have won three straight inside Viejas Arena.

* Steve Fisher owns a 14-12 record against the Lobos. San Diego State's three previous coaches combined to post a 4-18 record against New Mexico.

* Malcolm Thomas (22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, 10-12 FTs) - Posted his second 20-point game of the season and his sixth of his Aztec career... The 22 points were a season high... Logged his 16th double-figure scoring game of the season and first since the TCU game on Feb. 5... Has blocked a shot in 12 consecutive games... Has blocked four or more shots in game this season six different times... Established a career high with 10 free throws.

* Kawhi Leonard (22 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists) - Recorded his eighth 20-point game of the seaosn and the 11th of his career... The 20-point effort is his first at home this season; his other seven came away from home... Of his 11 career 20-point performances, just three have come at home; his last 20-point game at home occurred on Feb. 10 vs. Wyoming when he finished with 26... Posted his 24th double-figure scoring game of the season... After going 8-for-10 from the free-throw line, he his 13-for-15 in his last two outings... Led the team in rebounding for the 19th time this year.

* D.J. Gay (11 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3-4 3FG) - Had his consecutive turnover-free minutes streak stopped at 177 minutes with his miscue right before the first half ended... During his turnover-free streak, he accumulated 23 assists... Was 1-for-10 from three-point distance in his last four games, but broke out of his slump with a 3-for-4 performance tonight... Posted his 16th double-figure scoring effort of the season... Played the full 40 minutes for the sixth time this season.

* James Rahon (5 points, 2 assists) - Has made a three-point field goal for the 13th straight game, which matches his career high set while at Santa Clara during the 2008-09 campaign... Is 12 for his last 23 from three-point distance after going 1-for-2 tonight.
