SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team won a pair of singles matches in the middle lineup but that was the only points the Aztecs earned as 54th-ranked San Diego State lost a dual match to 36th-ranked Boise State, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Aztecs received straight-set wins from freshmen Juan Florez at number three singles and Hunter Nicholas at number four singles. Florez was a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) winner over Scott Sears, while Nicholas won 6-1, 7-5 over Jeff Mullen.

San Diego State was once again completive in other matches, with Tim Schulz van Endert losing a second-set tiebreaker to prohibit him from extending his match at number five singles and Jose Sierra Short coming out on the short end of a three-set match at number six.

The doubles point was close as well, with the Broncos earning the point on the strength of an 8-5 win at number and a 9-7 victory at number two. Number three singles belonged to SDSU, with Andre Feliz and Schulz van Endert claiming an 8-5 victory.

Boise State is now 3-6 on the season, while San Diego State is 1-6. The Aztecs are back in action on Friday against 58th-ranked San Diego. Match time at the Aztec Tennis Center is set for 5 p.m. PT.
