SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State swimming and diving team remained perfect in dual meet competition (12-0) this season as it chalked up a wins over Northern Colorado (90-70) and Tulane (93-65) Saturday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex.

It was the second sweep in two days for the Aztecs over the same two teams. Saturday's meet consisted of seven different swimming events from Friday's contest and also included both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions.

For the second day in a row, San Diego State took top honors in each of the swimming races beginning with the 400 medley relay where the team of Brooke Vessey, Mikaela Macklin, Leona Jennings and Kelly Marquenie went 3:53.92. It marked the first time the event was held at the Aquaplex and thus goes down as a pool record in the event.

The Aztecs next turned in the top three times in the 500 free with Stephanie Koch's mark of 5:01.06 going into the record book as the sixth-best time for the facility. She was followed by teammates Jessica Crider (5:03.98) and Lauren Parrett (5:07.57).

Sophomore Meghan Zimmer was a double winner for the Aztecs with a top finish in the 200 backstroke (2:05.90) as well as the 200 individual medley (2:09.67).

In the 200 fly, Leona Jennings had the eight-best time for the Aquaplex at 2:05.86 as she captured first place while freshman Mikaela Macklin took top honors in the 200 breaststroke in 2:21.15.

Junior Kristen Meier led the way in the diving competition for the Aztecs as she set new school and Aquaplex records on both the 1-meter and three-meter boards. In the 1-meter, her mark of 301.05 bettered her own SDSU record of 286.05 set earlier this season. Meier also broke her own school best in the 3-meter with a score of 314.85.

Up next for the Aztecs is a tri-meet with the University of San Diego and Colorado State on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 1:30 at USD. The met is expected to be run in an invitational-type format with prelims and finals.
