SAN DIEGO - The No. 57 San Diego State women's tennis team opens the 2011 dual-match campaign on Saturday, Jan. 22, against Big West Conference foes UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton. The UCR match is set for 9 a.m. PT and the CSUF tilt is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Aztec Tennis Center. Admission is free.
SDSU will play host to a pair of schools it is a combine 30-0 against. The Aztecs are 6-0 all-time against Highlanders and 24-0 vs. the Titans. A year ago, San Diego State posted a 6-1 victory over UCR and a 7-0 effort vs. Fullerton.
The Scarlet and Black return all seven letterwinners from last season, including Roxanne Ellison and Sierra Ellison, who are ranked No. 27 in the ITA doubles poll. Also back from 2010 are all-Mountain West Conference selections Julia Trunk and Alicia Aguilar.
