SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's soccer senior Michaela DeJesus and junior Megan McQueeny were named to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-Pacific Region Third Team. The honor is the first for DeJesus and the second for McQueeny.
A midfielder/forward from Dublin, Calif., DeJesus finished her final season on Montezuma Mesa as the Aztecs' leading offensive player. The all-Mountain West Conference first-team selection and all-MWC tournament pick led the team in goals (5), assists (6), points (16), shots on goal (21), shots-on-goal percentage (.568) and game-winning goals (2).
McQueeny, a defender hailing from Rohnert Park, Calif., is an all-Pacific Region choice for the second season in a row after playing and starting 20 games. The junior assisted on two goals, the third-highest total on the team. McQueeny was a part of a backline that helped shutout five opponents and held six of SDSU's last seven foes to one goal or less, while going 5-2 during that stretch.
This is the first time since 1999-2000 in which San Diego State has had players earn all-region accolades in consecutive seasons.
