The SDSU women's basketball team will try to claim its third consecutive San Diego Surf `N Slam title Thursday, when the Aztecs take on No. 7/5 Texas A&M in the championship game at 7 p.m. PT at Viejas Arena.

San Diego State has won six straight Surf `N Slam games over the last four seasons and finished first in 2008 with a stunning upset of previously unbeaten and fourth-ranked Texas, followed by an 11-point victory over Auburn for the championship in 2009. The Aztecs, who will be playing their final regular-season, non-conference contest of 2010-11, are a combined 23-5 during the month of December since 2006, and have come out ahead in five of their last six outings this year entering the match-up with Texas A&M.

SDSU (6-5) advanced to the championship of the Surf `N Slam for the fourth time in the tournament's six-year history by routing UTSA on Tuesday, 72-52. The Aggies, meanwhile, also won easily 74-45 over Drexel later in the evening to improve to 10-1.

UTSA and Drexel will square off in the consolation game at 5 p.m. PT on Thursday, followed by the championship game between the Aztecs and the Aggies. The title contest will feature a live audio call by Chris Ello, while a live video feed and live stats will be available for both games on the Aztecs' official website, goaztecs.com.
