The San Diego State women's basketball team plays its second game in as many days, as the Aztecs take on host Southern California for the first time in 11 years on Sunday for the championship of the Women of Troy Basketball Tournament in Los Angeles, Calif. Tip time is 5:30 p.m. PT at the Galen Center.

SDSU advanced to its second non-conference tourney championship game in as many tries by defeating the University of Dayton on Saturday, 74-62. The Aztecs held Dayton to a 31.0 field-goal percentage and 18 points below its season scoring average entering the afternoon for the win in the first-ever meeting between the two sides. San Diego State got a double-double from senior Paris Johnson with 19 points and 10 rebounds and a career-high 19 points out of senior Coco Davis, as the team made over 50 percent of its shots from the field for the second outing in a row. The victory improved the Aztecs to 4-4, including 2-0 on a neutral court, following an 0-3 start to the 2010-11 campaign.

USC, meanwhile, improved to 6-3 overall with a 68-54 victory against Colorado in the first game of the tournament Saturday afternoon. Southern Cal held just a three-point advantage at the break, but then outscored the Buffs 31-20 coming out of the locker room to secure the win. The Trojans are a perfect 4-0 at home this season and their only losses have come at No. 4 Duke by 25 points, at No. 5 Xavier by three points and vs. Princeton by one point.

Southern Cal owns a huge lead in the all-time series between the two foes at 25-5 overall, including a 15-game win streak between 1977 and 1984. The Aztecs have won three of the last eight with the most recent meeting coming in San Diego on Dec. 4, 1999, when the Trojans claimed a 12-point victory. The two schools have not played at USC since 1997, and SDSU is facing both USC and UCLA in the same campaign for the first time in 11 years.
