SAN DIEGO - San Diego State redshirt freshman golfer Rebecca Schneider claimed first place at the Third Annual Carlsbad City Amateur Golf Championships this past weekend at The Crossings at Carlsbad golf course. The Cave Creek, Ariz., native posted a 36-hole total of 160 in windy conditions, including an opening-round 77, to earn the title.
Schneider joined the Aztecs this season after transferring from Arizona State. She played in one fall event, the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
SDSU completed its 2010 fall schedule late last month and will resume action Feb. 7-8, 2011, at the Arizona Lady Wildcat Invitational in Tucson.
