SDSU Fall Classic II Day One Results in PDF Format
The San Diego state women's tennis team put together a near flawless effort on day one of the SDSU Fall Classic II at Aztec Tennis Center Friday. The Scarlet and Black won eight of 10 total matches on the day.
In doubles, Roxanne Ellison and Sierra Ellison continued their stellar play after their run to the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championship final two weeks ago as they defeated the Kansas duo of Katerina Morozova and Erin Wilbert, 8-3. Julia Wais and Alicia Aguilar were victorious as well, posting an identical, 8-3 score over Auburn's Plamena Kurteva and Taylor Schreimann.
San Diego State's nationally ranked singles players, Julia Trunk and Alicia Aguilar, led the way for the Aztecs as morning turned to afternoon. Trunk, ranked No. 51, was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Washington's Vanja Radunovic. The 61st-ranked Aguilar, meanwhile, breezed to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Victoria Khanevskaya of Kansas.
Olivia Colman made it a 2-0 day vs. Kansas in singles after she disposed of Paulina Los, 6-4, 6-2. Sierra Ellison and Roxanne Ellison were also straight sets winners after beating Adriana Radinovic of LMU, 6-1, 6-1, and UC Irvine's Hayley Young, 6-2, 7-6(4), respectively.
Julia Wais was extended the full three sets, but emerged with the win, defeating Aleksandra Krslijanin of Washington, 6-2, 0-6, 6-3.
Day two of the SDSU Fall Classic II set to begin at 9 a.m. PT Saturday. Admission is free.
