COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State middle blocker Andrea Hannasch has been named a member of the 2010 all-Mountain West Conference volleyball team as selected by the league's nine head coaches. This season the sophomore from New Braunfels, Texas, (New Braunfels HS) helped the Aztecs to their most wins and best record since the 2005 season.
Hannasch finished the season ranked fourth in the conference blocking in all matches with an average of 1.23 blocks per set. She led SDSU with 3.44 points per set and end the season with a mark of 2.59 kills and 1.36 digs per set. Her total of 135 block assists this fall rank as the eighth-most in a season ever by an Aztec.
In league matches, Hannasch's blocking average was 1.20 per set while her other stats increased to two 2.73 kills, 1.47 digs and 3.55 points per set.
In addition to her all-conference accolade, she also earned MWC Player of the week honors in late September. She set her single-match career highs this past season in hitting percentage (.688 vs. New Mexico, Sept. 23), kills (18 at BYU, Nov. 6) and digs (17 vs. UC Riverside, Oct. 26).
San Diego State concluded its 2010 season with a record of 16-16 overall and 8-8 in the Mountain West Conference.
