SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's basketball team continues to rise in both major college basketball polls, which were released Monday.
The Aztecs are up to No. 17 in the Associated Press Top 25, just one week after being ranked 18th. In the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll, SDSU finds itself at No. 19, up three spots from its program debut at No. 22 seven days ago.
Last week, San Diego State defeated Miami (Ohio) on the road, 77-56, before returning to Montezuma Mesa and beating San Diego Christian, 88-69, in its home season opener.
The Aztecs are 6-0 for the first time since 2006-07 and tied the school record for consecutive home victories over non-conference opponents at 16 with its decision over the Hawks last Friday. SDSU will look to set the program record with its 17th straight home non-league win on Wednesday when it plays host to Saint Mary's inside Viejas Arena at 7:30 p.m. PT.
