SDSU Women's Basketball Game Notes At Nevada in PDF Format
Playing its third game in the last five days, the San Diego State women's basketball team (1-3) will vie for the championship of the Nugget Classic on Saturday, when the Aztecs take on the host Nevada Wolf Pack (4-1) at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nev. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. PT (or 30 minutes after the end of the consolation game).
SDSU will be a day removed from its first victory of the season, shutting down a hot-shooting Minnesota squad and then holding onto a two-point lead through two Gopher possessions in the final 20 seconds for the 61-59 win.
Nevada, meanwhile, won the battle of the Wolf Pack with a 74-70 victory over North Carolina State, as a 3-pointer by Tahnee Robinson with 16 seconds remaining proved to be the game-winner.
San Diego State and Nevada last played each other in Reno in Nov. 2007, when the Aztecs notched a 67-61 season-opening victory. Then freshman Paris Johnson, making her collegiate debut, posted 16 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots in 38 minutes in the winning effort.
Saturday's contest will feature a live audio broadcast with Jack Cronin, as well as live stats, on goaztecs.com.
