AZTECS VISIT BEEHIVE STATE FOR PAIR OF MWC MATCHES THIS WEEKEND
San Diego State goes back on the road this week for a pair of Mountain West Conference matches. On Thursday, Nov. 4, the Aztecs will be in Salt Lake City to face Utah in a match scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. (MT) start at the Utes' Crimson Court. Two nights later (Saturday, Nov. 6), SDSU will visit Provo, Utah, for a match against Brigham Young at 7:00 p.m. (MT) at Smith Fieldhouse. Saturday's contest at BYU will be televised live on BYU TV and will be streamed live on the Internet at BYUTV.org.

SERIES RECORDS
San Diego State's all-time record against Utah stands at 20-22 since the teams first met in 1982. The Utes have won 13 of the last 17 matches although the Aztecs have won two of the last three including a match in San Diego earlier this season. SDSU's has lost 12 straight in Salt Lake City with its last win on the Utes' home court coming in 1995. San Diego State is 13-6 vs. Utah at home, 7-14 in Salt Lake City and 0-2 at neutral venues.
Brigham Young holds a 40-17 advantage over SDSU in the series that began in 1977. The Cougars have won 14 of the last 16 over San Diego State with the Aztecs winning two of the last seven. SDSU's last win over the Cougars in Provo came during the 2002 season. San Diego State has a record of 6-18 at home, 4-18 away and 7-4 at neutral sites vs. BYU.

NASH ON THE ATTACK
Freshman Summer Nash had back-to-back matches last week in which she set career highs in kills. Against UC Riverside on Oct. 26, she recorded 13 kills while hitting .417. Two days later (Oct. 28) she set her current career-high with 15 kills in the win over Wyoming. She also hit .429 in that contest In three matches last week she averaged 3.45 kills and 3.69 points per set while hitting .321. Nash has hit double figures in kills in each of the past five matches and is averaging 3.44 kills per set over that span.

SHELTON SHINES
Freshman Raegan Shelton, who had missed four matches due to injury, came off the bench in the second set against Wyoming last Thursday (Oct. 28) to notch 14 kills, four blocks, two service aces and a .414 attack percentage in the win over the Cowgirls. The four blocks represented her career high as an Aztec. She is third on the team in kill average at 2.81 per set.

MANASCO HEATS UP
Senior outside hitter Kelsey Manasco set a new career high with a .550 hitting percentage in the win over UC Riverside last Tuesday (Oct. 26). Her 12 kills in that contest represented a season high as did her four block assists and 15.0 points. Against Wyoming (Oct. 28) she again recoded four block assists and added a season-high four assists which also tied her Aztec career best. In three matches last week she average 2.27 kills per set, a figure that is almost double her season average.

PEARSON PROVIDES SPARK
Junior outside hitter Paije set a career high with seven blocks assists and seven total blocks in the win over Wyoming last week (Oct. 28). She had tied her previous career best of five block assists two days earlier vs. UC Riverside. She has recorded six total blocks in a match twice this season. That came in back-to-back matches vs. Utah and Seattle. Prior to the match against 14th-ranked Colorado State last Saturday (Oct. 30), Pearson had a .419 hitting percentage over the previous five matches (30k-4e-62ta). Her 10 digs vs. Wyoming was the third time she reached double figures in that category this season.

AZTEC NOTES
As a team, the Aztecs have hit .300 or better in seven matches, their highest total since it reached that mark in nine matches during the 2005 campaign ... The Aztecs are 2-3 in five-set matches this season ... San Diego State has won five of its last seven matches ... The loss to Colorado State last Saturday snapped a three-match win streak that had equaled the Aztecs' three straight victories to open the season ... SDSU's team blocking total (13.0 blocks - 4 solo, 18 assists) against Utah on Oct. 9 was its highest of the season. As a team SDSU has finished in double figures in blocking eight times ... The Aztecs are 1-11 in matches in which they trail in kills and also 0-10 in contests in which they record fewer digs than their opponent. On the flip side, they are 11-1 when leading in kills and 12-2 when leading in digs. The match vs. Seattle on Oct. 15 was the only that SDSU won when it trailed in kills ... Andrea Hannasch is the lone Aztec to have recorded at least one block in each of SDSU's matches this season ... Johnna Fouch is the only Aztec to have started every match this season. Fouch and libero Kristi Jackels are the only players to have appeared in every set in 2010.
