Aztec Women's Basketball Game Notes vs. CSUB in PDF Format
The San Diego State women's basketball team continues its season-opening homestand with a Wednesday evening game against Cal State Bakersfield at 7 p.m. PT. The first-ever meeting between the two schools is the Aztecs' second in a three-game stretch at Viejas Arena to kick off the 2010-11 campaign before playing their next six contests on the road.
SDSU is coming off a 55-48 loss to 15th-ranked UCLA last Friday, which saw the home team lead by eight at the break. The Aztecs, who were up by as many as nine points, went cold offensively, managing only two baskets in the final five minutes as the Bruins rallied for the victory.
Cal State Bakersfield, meanwhile, is in its first official season as a full-time member of NCAA Division I. The Roadrunners boast a 2-0 record already with wins over Dominican University (97-44) on Friday and Montana (74-54) on Monday. CSUB finished 16-13 overall a year ago with victories over Oregon State, Hawai'i, UC Irvine, UC Riverside and Long Beach State, en route to an appearance in the first-ever Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI). Cal State Bakersfield is an NCAA independent school and does not have a conference affliation in women's basketball.
Wednesday night's game with the Roadrunners will feature a live audio/video broadcast with Chris Ello, as well as live stats, on goaztecs.com.
