SAN DIEGO - Just three days before the 2010-11 season opener, San Diego State head women's basketball coach Beth Burns and her staff are playing host to the first-ever Basketball 101 this evening at Viejas Arena. The event is sold out and is designed to teach participants the ins-and-outs of the game of basketball.
The evening will include instruction from the SDSU coaching staff and a reception provided by Claim Jumpers. All proceeds are going toward the Aztec women's basketball scholarship fund.
The Aztec women's basketball squad, which last year won the conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, has its first official game of the campaign this Friday, when the No. 15 ranked UCLA Bruins come to Viejas Arena. Single-game and season tickets are on sale and can be purchased online at www.goaztecs.com, over the phone by calling 619-283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium's Window "E." The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
