SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team, which is receiving votes in the Associated Press national top-25 poll, will play host to UC San Diego on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Viejas Arena for its only exhibition game prior to the official start of the 2010-11 campaign. Tickets begin at just $4 for general admission seating.

The Aztecs and Tritons will be meeting for the third time in the two programs' history. UC San Diego enters the year ranked seventh in the nation in the preseason NCAA Division II poll after finishing last year with a 25-5 mark.

SDSU returns three starters and six letterwinners from its record-setting 2009-10 squad that went 23-11 overall, won the Mountain West Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.

Live stats will be available for Thursday's exhibition game. Most regular-season SDSU women's basketball contests will have live audio and video (home games only) on the internet free of charge via the school's official website, www.goaztecs.com.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at 619-220-8497, via ticketmaster.com or by visiting the Viejas Arena Box Office or the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium (window E).

San Diego State's official season opener is next week on Friday, Nov. 12, when 16th-ranked UCLA comes to Viejas Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be televised live on The Mtn.
