The San Diego State women's soccer team earned a No. 3 seed at this week's Mountain West Conference Soccer Championship at SDSU Sports Deck. The tournament begins on Wednesday, Nov. 3, with the quarterfinals and is followed by Thursday's semifinals and Saturday's title match.

The defending MWC champions are set to face sixth-seeded Wyoming on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. PT, with the winner advancing to meet second-seeded BYU on Thursday at 3 p.m. The other side of the bracket features a quarterfinal game between No. 4 seed Utah and fifth-seeded UNLV at noon on Wednesday. The victor will move on and face regular season champion New Mexico at noon on Thursday.

In its previous matchup this season at SDSU Sports Deck, the Aztecs defeated the Cowgirls, 2-0, on Oct. 16. San Diego State received single goals from freshman Soledad Gomez and senior Britney Bennett, and senior goalkeeper Aubree Southwick set the all-time Mountain West career saves mark with a game-high five stops.

San Diego State enters the tournament fresh off a 2-0 victory over UNLV on Friday. The Aztecs have won four in a row at SDSU Sports Deck with three of the four wins coming by way of the shutout. In fact, in its last four outings overall, the Aztecs have allowed just one goal.

A year ago, San Diego State won its first-ever Mountain West title in Provo, Utah. The Aztecs defeated Utah in the semifinals, before beating Brigham Young on its home field to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Mtn. will broadcast Thursday's semifinals live at noon and 3 p.m. PT. The championship game, scheduled for noon PT on Saturday, Nov. 6, will be streamed live on The Mtn.'s Web site (www.themtn.tv) and air on the linear network via same-day tape delay at 11 p.m. PT. It will also be re-broadcast at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. PT on Sunday, Nov. 7. The tandem of Jim Watson and Mark Rogondino will call the matches on Nov. 4 and 6.
