TULSA, Okla. - San Diego State's Javier Pulgar split a pair of matches on Sunday at the 2010 D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Pulgar claimed a 7-6 (6), 6-4 victory over Ivan Castro of Pacific in the third round of the event. In the fourth round, Georgia Tech's Dusan Miljevic ended Pulgar's run, with a 6-1, 7-6 (1) decision.
The pre-qualifying ITA All-American event was bracketed for a field of 256 individuals and played four rounds to 64. Pulgar advanced to today's action by claiming a 6-3, 6-3, second round victory over Jessie Kiuru of Maryland on Saturday. He received a bye in the first round.
Play in the qualifying bracket for the first major men's tennis tournament begins on Monday and will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday. The main draw of the event begins on Thursday.
