SAN DIEGO -

'The Pain of Losing' | 'Defenders Get No Love'

San Diego State men's soccer player Miles Byass (Highland, Calif.) has posted two blogs on the website Top Drawer Soccer.

The first one was entitled `The Pain of Losing' and was posted on Oct. 21, while the second (`Defenders Get No Love') was posted yesterday (Oct. 26).

Byass, who earlier this season was named by College Soccer News as one of the 100 Freshmen From Coast to Coast to Keep an Eye On, has played in 10 games this season with two starts to his credit. Byass scored his first career collegiate goal Sunday in the Aztecs' 1-0 victory over Stanford. His 25 shots rank fourth on the team, while his 2.50 shots per game is tied for sixth in the Pac-10.

Byass brings instant credibility to this year's class after playing for the United States Under-18 National Team for each of the past two years. A Parade All-American in 2009, Byass was ranked as the 16th-best recruit in the nation, according to Top Drawer Soccer.com. Byass scored 17 goals in 25 games for the U-18 Arsenal during the 2008-09 U.S. Academy season and participated in the USSF Academy 2008-09 West Conference U-17/U-18 Starting XI. A Highland, Calif., native, Byass scored 30 times for Redlands High School in the 2009-10 campaign, garnering player of the year honors by "High School Game Time" and the San Bernardino County Sun.

SDSU travels to Cal State Fullerton Saturday (7 p.m. PT) for its final regular season non-conference match.
