SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's golf team completes its 2010 fall campaign starting Monday morning with the three-day, 54-hole UNLV Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the par-72, 6,329-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

The Aztecs are one of 17 schools in the field, which is composed of 96 total players. Other participating squads include fellow MWC members host UNLV, New Mexico and Colorado State, as well as Louisville, Washington, Washington State, Arkansas, Kent State, East Carolina, Minnesota, UC Irvine, Arizona, Missouri, Oregon, Idaho, and San Jose State.

SDSU is current ranked 40th by Golfweek and 41st nationally by golfstat.com, and is one of 10 teams in this week's tournament rated in the top 50.

Second-year Aztec head coach Emilee Klein will bring five golfers with her to Las Vegas, including seniors Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) and Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.), junior Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) and sophomores Alessia Knight (Bologna, Italy) and Gina Clark (Murrieta, Calif.).

Notably missing from the line-up is SDSU sophomore Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C.), who helped Canada to a seventh-place performance at the 52-country Women's World Amateur Team Championships in Argentina, Oct. 20-23. Wong continued to establish herself as one the world's best amateur golfers, placing seventh on the individual leaderboard out of 155 golfers with a 72-hole total of 3-under 285, including three sub-par or even-par rounds.

San Diego State last competed at the UNLV event in 2004, placing 16th overall. The field will play 18 holes of golf each day, starting with tee times as early as 7:30 a.m. PT from both the No. 1 and No. 10 holes. The Aztecs will be paired with New Mexico and UC Irvine for Monday's first round. Live results for all three days of the tournament will be available on the schedule page on goaztecs.com, as well as on golfstat.com.
