Eleven regular-season tournaments in four different states, including the annual Barona Collegiate Cup, highlight the 2010-11 San Diego State men's golf schedule released Wednesday by eighth-year head coach Ryan Donovan.

The Aztecs' fall schedule consists of three tournaments in three different states, beginning with the Sept. 20-21 Husky Invitational at the Washington National Golf Club. The Aztecs finished third in this event to kick off their 2008 campaign.

San Diego State will return to the site of one of its best team performances of 2009-10 when it competes in the Oct. 1-2 William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The Aztecs finished second in last year's tournament, highlighted by Johan Carlsson's sixth-place individual finish.

The Red and Black will round out their fall slate with the Oct. 18-19 Alister Mackenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. The Aztecs finished sixth there in 2009, with Carlsson bagging a second-place individual finish in a weather-shortened event.

After a three-month break, San Diego State will kick off the 2011 spring schedule Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Arizona Invitational in Tucson. The Aztecs then return to California for a five-tournament swing over two months - the Battle at the Beach in Newport Beach, the USC Invitational in Westlake Village, the Fresno St. Lexus Golf Classic, the San Diego Intercollegiate Classic (co-hosted with San Diego) and SDSU's host event, the Barona Collegiate Cup, on March 24-25. The Aztecs won last year's Barona Collegiate Cup and placed three individuals (Carlsson, Alex Kang, J.J. Spaun) in the individual top 10.

Following their California swing, the Aztecs will return to the Arizona for the April 9-10 Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe. The Aztecs finished in a tie for eighth, and J.J. Spaun took home individual medalist honors with an 8-under 205 in 2010. The following week, the Aztecs return to California to close out their regular season at the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz.

The 2011 Mountain West Conference championship takes place at Omni Tucson National in Tucson, Ariz. on May 5-7. SDSU will then aim to compete in the NCAAs at the May 19-21 NCAA Regionals to be played at a yet undetermined site. Should the Aztecs qualify for the NCAA finals, they will compete May 31-June 5 at the Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.

San Diego State returns four of its top five scorers, as well as six varsity regulars after finishing 2009-10 ranked 28th in the final golfstat.com national rankings.
