COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior middle blocker Lauren Salisbury (Carroll HS, Southlake, Texas) has been named to the 2010 preseason all-Mountain West Conference volleyball team by a voting panel comprised of the nine league head volleyball coaches and selected media.
An all-conference selection in 2008 and 2009, Salisbury finished second in the in the MWC in hitting percentage last season, both overall (.353) and in league matches (.351). She enters the 2010 season ranked fifth on the SDSU career list in that category at .331.
Salisbury earned all-tournament recognition at the USF Asics/Coca-Cola Challenge last year and over the course of the season finished in double figures in kills in 19 matches while hitting .300 or better in 19 matches as well.
In other volleyball news, San Diego State has been picked to finish sixth in the Mountain West Conference in 2010 in a poll conducted among the league coaches and selected media. Defending champ Colorado State was chosen to defend its title while Utah was projected as runner-up.

The Aztecs will open their 2010 campaign as they host the annual Aztec Invitational on Aug. 27-28. SDSU will take on Cal State Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Aug. 27 in Peterson Gym. The other tourney participants, Cincinnati and Northern Colorado, will play at 5:00 p.m. that evening.
