SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer team will play their lone preseason fixture when they visit Long Beach State on Saturday, Aug. 14. The two sides will take the pitch at 5 p.m.

The Aztecs return 10 letterwinners and four starters from last year's side that won its first MWC tournament title, including backline anchor Megan McQueeny. SDSU was scheduled to return 12 letterwinners and six starters this season, but Cat Walker suffered an ACL injury, which is sidelining her for the year, and Tiffany Hurst is set to utilize her redshirt year in 2010. San Diego State will be led by fourth-year head coach and 2009 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year Mike Friesen.

The Aztecs were picked to finish in a tie for second in the 2010 MWC Preseason Coaches' Poll, released earlier this week. SDSU is coming off a banner season in which it finished unbeaten in MWC play and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998.

San Diego State kicks off its 2010 campaign with four consecutive road matches, beginning Aug. 20 at Santa Clara. The Aztecs play their first home fixture Sept. 3 against Detroit at 4:00 p.m.
