2010 Schedule

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's soccer head coach Lev Kirshner has announced the team's schedule for the 2010 season. The 19-match (regular season) slate includes 10 games away from SDSU Sports Deck, the program's most since the 2004 campaign.

Six of the Aztecs' 19 games are against teams who made the 2009 NCAA Tournament, while three are versus squads who earned national seeds in last year's tourney (No. 6 UCLA, which SDSU will play twice, and No. 11 San Diego).

Following a preseason friendly at Cal State Northridge on Aug. 27, San Diego State kicks off its regular season on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 2009 NCAA Tournament team Loyola Marymount.

The Aztecs will then play host to its Alumni, Family and Friends Weekend, highlighted by the program's annual alumni game on Saturday, Sept. 4, beginning at 1 p.m. PT. The following day, SDSU will travel to local derby and 2009 NCAA Tournament team San Diego for a 7 p.m. PT match.

The following weekend, San Diego State will host the third annual The Courtyard Marriott, San Diego Central Soccer Tournament where it will meet Air Force (Sept. 10) and Oakland University (Sept. 12). UC Irvine, last year's No. 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament, is also in the four-team tournament.

The Aztecs are back on the road the next weekend, traveling to the Middleton Sports and Fitness Invitational in Madison, Wis. SDSU will play the host Wisconsin Badgers on Sept. 17 and Wisconsin-Milwaukee two days later.

San Diego State returns to Montezuma Mesa when it meets Houston Baptist (Sept. 24) and Albany (Sept. 26) as part of the University of San Diego/Nike Cup.

The Aztecs begins its sixth season of Pac-10 play the following weekend with home slates against Oregon State (Oct. 1) and Washington (Oct. 3). SDSU will play each team in the conference (UCLA, California, Stanford, OSU and UW) twice in a home-and-home series. Last season, the four-time NCAA champion UCLA Bruins captured the Pac-10 title and advanced all the way to the NCAA quarterfinals.

In between its Pac-10 schedule, SDSU will travel to Cal State Fullerton on Oct. 30 in its final non-conference match of the season.

San Diego State's final regular season home game is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. PT against UCLA, where there will be a special pregame ceremony honoring the Aztec seniors.
