The San Diego State women's golf team moved up four slots in the standings into 13th place following its second round 316 Friday at the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus, Ind. The Aztecs improved its day one score by three strokes to go to 59-over 635 for the tournament at the par-72, 6,417-yard Otter Creek Golf Club.

SDSU sophomore Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) remains in the running for the school's first-ever NCAA individual berth, as she is tied for fourth place at 5-over 149, despite shooting five strokes above her first-round score with a 5-over 77. Enarsson added four more birdies on Friday, giving her a field-best nine over the 36 holes. She is in a three-way tie for fourth place, just three strokes behind co-leaders Victoria Park of Oklahoma State and Lizette Salas of USC, who are both at 2-over 146.

Aztec Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C.) came back from an uncharacteristic 84 in the first round, to fire the team's best score of the day with a 3-over 75. Wong had eight pars and one bogey through the first nine holes and notched a birdie on the par-4 11th hole before completing the round with three bogeys and four pars. The 2010 MWC Freshman of the Year used her 75 to jump from 94th place all the way into a tie for 50th with a 15-over 159.

Wong's classmate, freshman Gina Clark (Murrieta, Calif.), matched her first-round score with another 81 to remain in 69th place with a 162, while junior Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.) moved up to 90th with a 167, including a second-round 83. Junior Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) ended the first nine holes at 4-over par, but then triple bogeyed the par-4 10th and notched double bogeys on two of the next three holes to finish with an 86.

Fifth-ranked USC overtook fellow Pac-10 member and reigning national champion Arizona State for the team lead through 36 holes with a 27-over 602, including a second-round 304.

The Aztecs need to finish in the top eight to advance to the NCAA national championships at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C., May 18-21. The top two individuals at the Central Regional not on those eight teams will also earn a berth.

SDSU tees off from the first hole beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET along with Louisville and Northwestern for Saturday's third and final round. Live results are available on goaztecs.com, as well as golfstat.com.
