Andrea Harrison singled home B.B. Bates with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to give UCLA a 4-3 victory over the San Diego State softball team Saturday in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional. With the loss, the Aztecs (34-15) will play the Fresno State-Saint Mary's winner in an elimination game later tonight (6 p.m. PT).

SDSU had tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the seventh inning when junior Jessica Camello's (Temecula, Calif.) two-strike, two-out double scored pinch runners Traci Wolf (Lancaster, Calif.) and Lindsey Marquez (Tustin, Calif.). Camello advanced to third on the play, but senior Brittany Knudsen (San Diego/Escondido HS) popped out to end the inning.

The Bruins (42-11) loaded the bases with one out on a single (Bates), walk (Monica Harrison) and an intentional walk (Megan Langenfeld). Andrea Harrison then chopped a single just off San Diego State redshirt junior Monica Alnes' (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) glove and into right field for the game-winning RBI.

Megan Langenfeld homered twice and Samantha Camuso once for UCLA, which will play the winner of tonight's game at noon PT Sunday.

The Aztecs outhit the Bruins, 8-6, but three of UCLA's six hits were for home runs.

SDSU got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second inning when it loaded the bases with no outs on a single by junior Eva Sahatdjian (Fresno, Calif.), a sac bunt (and reached on a error) by Alnes and a single by freshman Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.). After a strikeout, junior Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.) scored redshirt freshman pinch runner Roshana Lavery (San Diego/Mission Bay HS) on a fielder's choice groundout that got Jackson out at second. Freshman pinch hitter Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.), however, struck out swinging to end the inning.

After San Diego State left another runner on base in the top of the third, the Bruins tied it in the bottom half when Langenfeld drilled a solo homer well over the right field fence.

In the fifth, Wisneski and Camello each singled to put runners on first and second with one out, but Knudsen lined sharply into a double play that also got Camello out at first, keeping the Aztecs off the board.

Langenfeld answered for UCLA with another solo home run in the fifth and Camuso made it 3-1 in the sixth before SDSU put together the two-out rally.

Camello had three hits to lead the San Diego State offense and is now 5-for-7 (.714) in the two NCAA tournament games.

Beasley (29-10) took the loss after allowing four runs on six hits and five walks over 6 1/3 innings. She had three strikeouts. Aleah Macon (9-1) picked up the win for the Bruins, scattering three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks, while striking out five.
