SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior Brittany Knudsen (San Diego/Escondido HS) has been named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Softball Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Information of America (CoSIDA) announced yesterday (May 6). Knudsen earned Division VIII second-team accolades.
A double-major in kinesiology and math, Knudsen current holds a 3.46 grade point average.
On the field, Knudsen is batting .390 (best in school single-season history) and also leads the Aztecs in at-bats (123, tied), hits (48), total bases (63, tied), on-base percentage (.457) and sacrifice bunts (7, tied).
Among the career leaders at SDSU, Knudsen ranks first in on-base percentage (.431), doubles (35) and walks (94). She has started 194 consecutive games heading into tonight's game against Utah (6 p.m. PT).
