SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State athletic department is looking for energetic, imaginative and improvisational individuals to don the uniform of a supplemental character at Aztec home football and basketball games. The new supplemental character will work in conjunction with the current spirit squad - cheerleaders, dance team and Aztec Warrior - and will debut this fall.

Tryouts are scheduled for Thursday, May 6, from 6-7 p.m. PT at Peterson Gym. Candidates must be between 5 feet, 5 inches and 6 feet tall. Individuals will be asked to perform an original skit and example of crowd interaction of less than five minutes. There will also be an interview portion of the tryout.

Some categories in which participants will be scored include, amount of energy, creative imagination, school spirit, improvisational usage, athletic knowledge and skills, ability to create and appropriately use props, ability to uphold school values and image, and ability to work well with others.
