SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Moriah Roberge set a freshman school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to lead the San Diego State track and field team at the Mangrum Invitational Saturday in San Marcos, Calif. Roberge was the lone Aztec to compete in the meet.

Competing in her first steeple of the season, Roberge finished sixth with a time of 13 minutes, 10.80 seconds. The 13:10.80 ranks eighth in the Mountain West Conference and 82nd in the region.

A Coos Bay, Ore., native, Roberge also has top-11 MWC marks in the pole vault (eighth, 12-01.50) and the javelin (11th, 126-4). The 12-01.50 vault ranks 38th in the region and 64th in the nation, according to TFRRS.org.

Roberge and the rest of the team will be back in action Thursday in the three-day Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational in Los Angeles.
