AZTEC STORY LINES
- San Diego State continues its five-match stretch of contests played away from Montezuma Mesa this week with Mountain West Conference dates at Brigham Young and Utah. The Aztecs will look to stop a two-match losing streak on Thursday against the Cougars, before traveling to Salt Lake City to face the Utes on Saturday. Both matches are set for noon MT.
- For the second consecutive match, SDSU is looking to rebound from a 4-3 loss. Heading into last week's UNLV date, the Aztecs were fresh off a 4-3 defeat at No. 50 Pepperdine. Fast forward to this week and San Diego State is looking to recover from its 4-3 loss at No. 59 UNLV.
- The Aztecs split six singles matches with UNLV, but lost the decisive doubles point. Despite the loss, SDSU won its two matches against the Rebels' pair of nationally ranked players. No. 71 Julia Trunk upset No. 31 Kristina Nedeltcheva in three sets, while No. 80 Alicia Aguilar was a straight sets winner over No. 103 Jana Albers.
- San Diego State, which is in search of its first MWC victory, enters the BYU match having won the last meeting with the Cougars and three of the last four match-ups. The Aztecs are 19-22 all-time vs. Brigham Young.
- After its clash with BYU, San Diego State will play at Utah after splitting two matches last year. The Aztecs have dominated the series with the Utes, winning 18 of the 21 all-time meetings.
- Following its trip to the state of Utah, SDSU will return to Las Vegas for neutral-site matches against TCU and New Mexico on April 9-10, respectively.
