Bruin Wave Invite Results - Round 2 in PDF Format
The San Diego State women's golf team dropped one place in the team standings Tuesday following the second round of the Bruin Wave Invitational in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Aztecs are 12th through 36 holes, eight strokes out of 11th, after recording a 309 to move to 35-over 611 at the par-72, 6,282-yard Valley Course at Robinson Ranch Golf Club.
SDSU continues to be led by sophomore Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), who dropped just slightly from 19th into a tie for 21st with a second-round 75 for a two-day total of 4-over 148. Enarsson began the day with a birdie on the par-4 10th hole, but then had bogeys on the 13th, 15th and 17th. She rallied with two birdies to get to even par, but then had a double bogey and bogey in her final four holes.
Aztec freshman Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C.) was unable to record a birdie in her 18 holes, carding a 6-over 78 to tie for 50th place with a 153. Classmate Gina Clark (Palm Desert, Calif.), though, continued to give the team consistent results with her second 77 to tie for 54th, just one stroke behind Wong.
Junior Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) is currently in 61st place at 12-over 156, while junior Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.) is in 92nd place overall with a 169.
Top-ranked UCLA took over the team lead with a second-round 290 to sit at even-par 576, four strokes better than both No. 6 USC and No. 9 Pepperdine. Bruin Stephanie Kono is one up on Pepperdine's Danielle Kang at 6-under 138.
The Bruin Wave Invite concludes Wednesday with the third round slated to begin for the Aztecs at 7:39 a.m. PT off the 10th tee.
