COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State freshman Bryan Crabb has been named Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week. This is the first career weekly honor for Crabb, who becomes the second Aztec hurler to capture the honor after Addison Reed won it last week.

Crabb tossed seven innings of one-hit ball in the 7-0 win over Monmouth last Friday. The right-hander from Coronado, Calif. (Coronado HS) surrendered just one hit, a third-inning single, while facing one batter over the minimum through the first six innings. He struck out a season-high seven batters while issuing three walks.

Crabb's record after his first three collegiate starts stands at 1-1 and he has compiled a 1.72 earned run average.

The Aztecs' next regularly-scheduled contest is slated for Tuesday, March 9, against Long Beach State at Blair Field at 6:30 p.m.

San Diego State will host its annual Aztec Invitational beginning Thursday, March 11, with contests at Tony Gwynn Stadium and USD's Cunningham Stadium. In addition to the Aztecs and Toreros, other teams participating include Cal State Fullerton, Alabama-Birmingham, Fresno State and San Francisco. SDSU will open against UAB at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
