AZTEC STORY LINES
- After a brief trip to Northern California, San Diego State returns to Aztec Tennis Center to open a two-game homestand beginning on Wednesday. First up for SDSU is Loyola Marymount, followed by a Sunday tilt vs. No. 55 Saint Mary's.
- The Aztecs are coming off a 7-0 loss at the hands of fifth-ranked California. SDSU will look to stop its losing streak at one against an LMU team that has not won since beating Hawai'i on Feb. 8. Since that win, the Lions have lost five straight, including three by 7-0 margins.
- San Diego State plays considerably better at home and its record does not lie. Four of the Aztecs' five wins this season have come at Aztec Tennis Center and SDSU is 4-2 on Montezuma Mesa. In matches away from campus, San Diego State is only 1-3 (road/neutral contests).
- The Aztecs enter their match with Loyola Marymount with an all-time record of 16-2 vs. the Lions. SDSU has won two straight in the series and has not dropped a match to LMU since 2007.
- Sunday's opponent, Saint Mary's, visits San Diego State having never beat the Aztecs in three all-time meetings. The last time these two schools met was in 2004 when the Aztecs posted a 7-0 victory at the old tennis courts on campus.
- Following this week's two-match homestand, San Diego State will have one last prep before MWC action. The Aztecs will travel to Pepperdine on March 20, a date that was added last week due to a pair of rainouts this season.
