MATCH WEEK RESET
SAN DIEGO STATE (5-4) at #5 CALIFORNIA (8-2) Friday, March 5| 1:30 p.m. PT | Hellman Tennis Complex

AZTEC STORY LINES
- San Diego State looks for some kind of consistency on Friday, March 5, when it takes on fifth-ranked California in Berkeley. The Aztecs have had two of their last four matches rained out and have not played consecutive matches since a win over Hawai'i on Feb. 11 and a loss at No. 52 Long Beach State on Feb. 13.

- In the last seven days, SDSU had its home match vs. No. 47 Sacramento State rained out before cruising to the 6-1 win over Eastern Michigan this past Tuesday. The Aztecs and Hornets tried waiting out rain for two hours, but decided to call the match due to the expected rain in the forecast.

- Having only played two matches since Valentine's Day has hurt the Aztecs in the team rankings as they do not appear in the most recent ITA team poll released on March 2. Julia Trunk and Alicia Aguilar, however, are ranked in the singles poll. Trunk, who has been ranked since Feb. 18, is No. 65 and Aguilar, who is making her debut, is ranked No. 71. Both own 6-3 singles records and the six victories in dual-match action is tied for the most on the team with Sierra Ellison.

- The weather has not helped, but San Diego State has not won two straight since winning both of its season-opening matches on Jan. 24. That day, the Aztecs defeated UC Riverside, 6-1, and Cal State Fullerton, 7-0. Since then, SDSU is just 3-4.

- San Diego State will look to snap California's recent dominance over the Aztecs. Since 1994, the Aztecs are 0-14 against the Golden Bears. In the overall history of the series, SDSU is 6-30 all-time vs. the Pac-10 Conference foe.

- With two rain outs this season, San Diego State has made up one of the dates. SDSU will take on Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif., on Saturday, March 20, at 1 p.m. PT. The Waves are currently ranked No. 35 in the nation.
