The San Diego State women's basketball team (14-6), which is currently tied for first place in the Mountain West Conference standings, begins the second round of league action Saturday, when it plays host to New Mexico (13-7, 5-3) for an early tip-off at 12:30 p.m. PST. The game is being televised live on The Mtn. with Mike Evans (play-by-play) and Anne Marie Anderson (analysis) calling the action from Viejas Arena.

The Aztecs completed their first turn through the 2010 MWC schedule with a 6-2 record, defeating host Air Force in Colorado Springs on Wednesday evening, 68-48. With the win, SDSU kept its slot atop the league standings and is currently tied with TCU, while BYU and New Mexico are only a game back in third place at 5-3.

San Diego State cruised to a surprisingly easy 61-39 victory over New Mexico in the conference opener for both squads back on Jan. 6 in Albuquerque. The Aztecs outscored the Lobos 36-19 in the second half, as UNM shot only 26.8 percent from the field and made only 2-of-13 attempts from long range. SDSU has won each of its last three meetings with New Mexico, after not beating the Lobos since 2001.

Saturday's contest with UNM, which is coming off a bye earlier this week, features a live audio call with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com. There will be NO video feed, due to live television coverage.
