SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior guard Jené Morris is featured in the March issue of SLAM magazine, a national basketball publication.
Morris, who boasts a league-best 19.3 points per game in Mountain West Conference outings, is the only women's player highlighted in the "Under-the-Radar" feature by Aggrey Sam. Sam boasts of Morris' "blazing speed and tenacious defense" in garnering MWC Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors a year ago.
Morris currently leads the MWC and ranks 15th nationally with 3.0 steals per game. The San Francisco native recorded her 1,000th career point at SDSU earlier this season and scored a conference-best 32 points against No. 3 Notre Dame.
Morris was on 2009-10 preseason watch lists for the Wade Trophy, John R. Wooden Award and the Naismith Trophy and was named the preseason MWC Player of the Year.
