SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State track and field team begins its 2010 season this weekend at the Mountain T's Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz. The two-day event, which begins Friday, will be held at the J L Walkup Skydome on the campus of Northern Arizona.
Twenty-seven Aztecs are set to make the trip, including All-American Karoline Koehler, who will participate in the invitational long jump, the 60-meter dash and the invitational 200. Koehler is also slated to join Jessika Hornsby, Alicia King and Thoraya Maronsey in the invitational 1,600-meter relay.
Day one for SDSU begins Friday with the open long jump at 5 p.m. The event will conclude for San Diego State on Saturday with the 4x400 relay (3 p.m.).
Last year, triple jumpers Decontee Kaye and Koehler finished first and second, respectively, as they both provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Results will be posted on Northern Arizona's website (http://www.nauathletics.com/sports/track/2009-10/schedule) immediately after each day of competition.
