LAS VEGAS - The 42nd-ranked San Diego State men's tennis team fell to No. 39 Texas Tech, 4-3, at Fertitta Tennis Complex Saturday in Las Vegas. The Aztecs (0-1) lost the doubles point and split the singles matches with the Red Raiders (2-0), 3-3.
Juniors Andre Feliz and Tim Schulz van Endert teamed up to win at No. 3 doubles, 8-7, over Vitor Manzini and Raphael Pfister, then came back to each take a singles victory. Feliz downed Rafael Garcia, 6-0, 6-3, at third singles, while Schulz van Endert knocked off Pfister, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 6 singles.
SDSU's other point on the day came in fourth singles, where senior and 114th-ranked Juan Gomez rallied to defeat Andre Stabile, 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6).
San Diego State will be back on the court on Jan. 29 when it meets Oklahoma in the National Team Indoor Qualifying event in Palo Alto, Calif.
