Coaches Clinic Brochure in PDF Format
The San Diego State softball team will host a free coaches clinic on Feb. 4, 2010. The two-hour event will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Aztec Athletic Center.
Pitching and hitting will be the main focus of the clinic and will be led by 14th-year head coach Kathy Van Wyk. Van Wyk, the school's all-time winningest coach, has guided SDSU to four Mountain West Conference championships and five NCAA appearances.
Each of the other Aztec coaches will particpate in the clinic, including Stacey Nuveman, Mia Longfellow and Steve Miner. In her second year as an assistant coach, Nuveman was a three-time U.S. Olympian and four-time first-team NFCA All-American at UCLA. Longfellow, entering her first year as an assistant coach, earned all-Pac-10 honors all four years at Oregon State, where she set five program records. An assistant coach the past two years who this season will be a volunteer assistant coach, Miner was a four-time All-American at the national fastpitch level, excelling in slap-hitting techniques.
