SDSU Game Notes vs. Utah in PDF Format
In the first of two games between last year's Mountain West Conference regular-season co-champions, the San Diego State women's basketball squad plays host to Utah on Wednesday evening for a nationally-televised game, beginning at 7 p.m. PT at Viejas Arena. Ann Schatz (play-by-play) and former Aztec Tammy Blackburn (analysis) will have the call live on CBS College Sports.
Both sides, who are meeting for the first time since the MWC championship game last March, are coming off disappointing losses in their most recent outings on Saturday. The Aztecs traveled to 22nd-ranked TCU, falling to the Lady Frogs, 80-63. The loss was SDSU's first in its last nine MWC regular-season contests and also snapped the team's seven-game overall win streak.
Utah, meanwhile, enters this week's outing with a 10-6 record and an 1-2 mark in conference play, having dropped a 54-49 decision to visiting UNLV on Saturday afternoon. The Utes, who have yet to reach the 50-point barrier in an MWC game, traveled to San Diego in November for the JHG Jam, but did not face the Aztecs.
San Diego State will be trying for its 13th consecutive home Mountain West Conference win Wednesday, when the two sides tangle in their 42nd all-time meeting. The game will feature a live audio call with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com. There will be no live video feed.
