* San Diego State improves to 12-3 overall, matching its best start after 15 games in the last 25 seasons. The last time the Aztecs had a better record after 15 games was when the 1984-85 squad opened 13-2 and ended the campaign 23-8 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
* San Diego State improves to 14-76 in the Division I era against AP Top 25 teams, but is 4-3 in its last seven contests against the AP Top 25.
* Defeating the Associated Press 15th-ranked team New Mexico tonight, ties for the fifth-highest ranked team SDSU has defeated in program history. This matches the highest-ranked team SDSU has defeated since an 82-80 overtime win over seventh-ranked Brigham Young on Feb. 18, 1988.
* San Diego State has won four straight games and nine of its last 10 (9-1) contests.
* San Diego State has won 13 consecutive home games. The current streak is tied for the fifth longest in school history (full list can be found on page 121 of the media guide), and is the longest since the Aztecs won 13 straight at home from Jan. 13, 2007 until Jan. 9, 2008 (ended that date).

He recorded his sixth double-figure scoring game of the season... The junior posted his fourth 10-plus rebound game of 2009-10... Thomas' 15 rebounds is a season best.
* D.J. Gay - 12 points (3-6 3FG), 5 assists:  Gay recorded his ninth game with at least a pair of three-pointers; he finished with three... The junior led the team in assists for the ninth time this season... The game marked his third game of the season with at least five assists... Gay posted his 10th double-figure scoring performance of 2009-10 and his 29th of his career.
* Tim Shelton - 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists:  Shelton finished with a season-high eight points... The sophomore also played a season-high 26 minutes... Off the bench, Shelton recorded three assists, which is a season-best.
* Brian Carlwell - 4 points, 3 rebounds: Carlwell hit all four free-throw attempts... His four free throws matches a career high set twice before.
* Kawhi Leonard - 5 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals: Despite battling foul trouble, Leonard posted his 10th game with at least eight rebounds.
* Chase Tapley - 7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals: Tapley finished with four assists for the game in his fourth career start... In his last two games, Tapley has 13 assists and one turnover... His five rebounds were a career high, as were his four steals.
