SAN DIEGO - San Diego State will play host to the second annual "A Night with the Aztecs" presented by Bledsoe Brace Systems on Thursday, Feb. 19, at Cox Arena beginning at 6 p.m. PT. "A Night with the Aztecs" will feature appearances by Aztec legends and current student-athletes and coaches. This fundraising event will include fantastic live and silent auction items with proceeds benefiting the student-athlete scholarship fund for all 18 intercollegiate sports offered by SDSU.
"A Night with the Aztecs is a great opportunity for Aztec fans, donors and alumni to meet current coaches, student-athletes and past Aztec greats," associate athletic director Bob Moosbrugger said. "Proceeds from the evening directly support the scholarship fund for all 18 sports. In the 2008-09 academic year alone, Aztec Athletics will provide over $5 million financial aid to SDSU student-athletes."
After groundbreaking success in 2008, surpassing goals by nearly $50,000, "A Night with the Aztecs" is again slated to be an exciting evening of food, spirits and camaraderie with the San Diego community, Aztec coaches and student-athletes.
Among the many items up for bid, the following is a sampling of items:
-Tickets for the PGA Championship, NCAA Final Four, BCS National Championship Game, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and the Super Bowl
-Dinner for eight with head football coach Brady Hoke and athletic director Jeff Schemmel
-A one week stay at a Kauai Private Beachfront Vacation Home
-Don Coryell Lifetime Achievement signed football
-Tiger Woods autographed 2008 U.S. Open pin flag
These items plus many more unique opportunities!
Ticket prices to attend "A Night with the Aztecs" are individually priced at $50 or $1,500 for a VIP table with seating for 10. A delicious variety of food will be catered by restaurants like Old Town Mexican Cafe, L&L Hawaiian Barbeque, Nick's Neighborhood Restaurants, Victor's Kafe, Souplantation and Donovan's Steak and Chop House.
