TEAM NOTES
* - San Diego State extends the nation's longest active win streak in overtime games to nine.
* - San Diego State improves to 9-3 overall, marking the third straight season that the Aztecs have won exactly nine of their first 12 games of a season. The difference is, that this season the Aztecs have played seven of their 12 games on the road, compared to just two road games and three neutral contests in their first 12 last season and three neutral and five road games in the first dozen contests of the 2007-08 campaign.
* - San Diego State claims its fourth road victory of the season. This is the second earliest date in the 40-year Division I school history that the Aztecs have claimed their fourth road victory. The only season in which San Diego State did it faster was the 1971-72 campaign.
* - With eight of the nine Mountain West-Missouri Valley games in the books, San Diego State becomes just the second school to record a road victory and the first to do som from the MWC. The first road win in the challenge was by Illinois State, which claimed a 73-63 victory at Utah on Dec. 19. Road teams are now 2-6 in the challenge.
* - San Diego State has won its immediate game following a loss on six straight occasions. The Aztecs are now 12-2 in its last 14 games after a loss. San Diego State has played 23 straight games without dropping consecutive games.
* - San Diego State has won nine of its first 12 games while playing at least seven road games for the first time in the 40-year history of a Division I program and the first time overall since the 1967-68 season. That year, the Aztecs opened 9-3, playing seven road games en route to a 21-6 record and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
GAME NOTES
* - Starting Lineup: Freshman guard Chase Tapley made his second career start and first since earning the starting nod against Northern Arizona on Nov. 28. This was the fifth different starting lineup used by Steve Fisher this season. Junior guard D.J. Gay remains the only players to start every game this season (12).
* - San Diego State made a season-high nine three point field goals and made a season-high 17 free throws.
* - San Diego State, which entered the contest ranked 22nd nationally in rebound margin, outrebounded Drake, 40-26. It marks the 10th time this season SDSU has outrebounded its foe this season, with the Aztecs going 9-1 in those games. This marked This was the sixth time this season that the Aztecs have owned a double-digit rebound advantage. In the last four games, SDSU owns a 160-102 advantage on the glass.
* - San Diego State improves to 7-0 this season and 136-35 under Steve Fisher when ahead at the half. The Aztecs have won their last 10 games when ahead after 20 minutes.
* - The Aztecs overcame an eight-point second half deficit to win. That was the largest lead overcome for victory this season and is the 11th largest second-half deficit overcome for a win in the Steve Fisher era.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
* - D.J. Gay - game-high 18 points, 7-10 FGs, 4-5 3FGs, team-high 3 assists:  Gay reached double-figures in scoring for the third straight game for the first time this season with a game-high 18 points... He connected on a trey for the sixth consecutive game... He tied a season-high with four threes, two short of his career best... He now has 106 career threes, tying him with Al Faux for ninth place on the school's all-time career chart... He has now made 16 of his last 32 attempts from three-point range (50.0 percent).
* - Billy White - 16 points, 7-11 FGs, 9 rebounds: White posted his seventh double-figure scoring game of the season and the 34th of his career with 16 points... He has shot 50 percent or better from the field in nine of his last 10 games, including a 7-for-11 performance tonight... He followed up a season-high 10 rebound performance at Arizona State by grabbing nine rebounds tonight at Drake.
* - Kelvin Davis - 16 points, career-high tying 5 3FGs: Davis tied a career-high five three-point field goals... He did it against California on Nov. 24, 2007... Since that time, Davis has been successfully treated for Hodgkin's Lymphoma, received the USBWA Most Courageous Award and the Aztecs have played 75 games since that time... Davis recorded his fourth double-digit scoring game and the 15th of his career... He entered tonight's game with 11 treys on the season.
* - Kawhi Leonard - 14 points, game-high 11 rebounds: Leonard had the fourth double-double of his freshman campaign and the third in the last four games... He has four consecutive games with at least 11 rebounds and 52 total boards during that span... His 14 points were the second highest total of his career.
