The San Diego State women's tennis team posted three semifinal victories on the second day of the SDSU Fall Classic II at Aztec Tennis Center. Roxanne Ellison and Emma Cioffi led the way for the Scarlet and Black as they pocketed wins in both singles and doubles.
Ellison and her sister, Sierra, opened their morning with an 8-4 win over Oklahoma's Marie Pier-Huet and Katelyn Connelly to advance to their respective championship matches on Sunday. Cioffi and her partner, Julia Wais, meanwhile, will play for the Doubles Black title after defeating OU's Brittany Parks and Tara Eckel, 8-6.
In singles, Roxanne Ellison made it 2-for-2 with her victory over UC Irvine's Hannah Holladay, 6-0, 6-1, while Cioffi finished as a 6-1, 7-5 winner over Washington's Ashley Anderson. Cioffi will play for the Singles White Bracket championship following doubles action.
The third and final day of the SDSU Fall Classic II will commence at 9 a.m. PT on Sunday.
