The San Diego State women's basketball team went on a 13-2 run to open the game and never looked back, easily handling visiting Point Loma Nazarene, 83-39, Friday evening at Viejas Arena in its first and only exhibition contest of the 2009-10 season.

"Your goal in an exhibition game is No. 1 to win," said SDSU head coach Beth Burns. "Our second goal is for (the players) to start building confidence playing together and the third thing is for everyone to play and get some film minutes that they can learn from. Everyone did something really well tonight."

The Aztecs had four players score in double-figures, including junior forward Jessika Bradley (Sacramento, Calif.), who had a solid SDSU debut with 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes of action. Classmate Jerica Williams (San Diego, Calif.) also had 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while senior Jené Morris (San Francisco, Calif.) and junior Allison Duffy (Lakeside, Calif.) added 15 and 12 points, respectively. Morris had five of the team's 15 steals and guard Coco Davis (Sacramento, Calif.) contributed seven of the Aztecs' 23 assists.

After giving up the first basket of the game, SDSU ran off 13 straight points to go up by 11 at 13-2 a little more than four minutes into the contest. The advantage would grow to 20 points on a Quenese Davis (Sacramento, Calif.) lay-up at the 9:29 mark and was at 24 at the half (43-19), as the Sea Lions shot only 30 percent in the first 20 minutes of play.

San Diego State continued its offensive output after the break, scoring the first 11 points to move out to a 30-point lead at 49-19. PLNU got its first bucket of the second half with just under 14 minutes left in the game on a PJ Hanson jumper, but after trimming the deficit down to 31 points, the Aztecs scored 10 straight and went on to win the game by 44 points, 83-39.

The Sea Lions forced 21 San Diego State turnovers, but had 29 of their own and were outrebounded 43-20. PLNU was led by Liah Ector's 13 points, six rebounds and seven steals.

The Aztecs will officially open the season one week from tonight, as they travel to Orange County for a game at UC Irvine on Friday at 5 p.m.
