* San Diego State had three players score in double figures, which marks the second time in as many games the Aztecs have accomplished the feat.
* The Aztecs rebounded from a poor-shooting first half to shoot 50 percent from the field in the second half, hitting 14 of their 28 shot attempts.
* For the second consecutive game, Malcolm Thomas led the team in rebounding with hist team-high eight. He also led the team in scoring for the second game in a row with his 14.
* D.J. Gay reached double figures for the first time this season. He knocked down a pair of threes en route to 10 points. The junior also had a team-high three assists.
* Billy White returned to the lineup and had 10 points, all in the second half, off the bench. He also had seven rebounds, which was tied for second most on the team with Kawhi Leonard.
* Tyrone Shelley played in his first regular season game for the Aztecs and finished with six points and six rebounds. The sophomore also added a team-high two steals.
* Despite the return of Billy White and Tyrone Shelley, head coach Steve Fisher elected to go with the same starting five (Brian Carlwell, Kelvin Davis, D.J. Gay, Kawhi Leonard, Malcolm Thomas) that earned the assignment vs. UC San Diego in the season opener.
